A Chain of Grandeur: Dedicating the Halls of Torah at Yeshivat "Tiferet Yonatan Yehoshua"

The Chanukah days of this year will be inscribed in the annals of the "Mother of Kibbutz Yeshivot," Yeshivat Tiferet Yonatan Yehoshua, led by the Gaon Rabbi Israel Meir Zvichi, shlit”a. It was a period of profound spiritual elevation, interwoven with the immense joy of building Torah.Under the banner of "Mizmor Chanukat HaBayit," hundreds of students and alumni celebrated a series of landmark events across all branches of the Yeshiva, reflecting the institution's impressive momentum of growth and development.

The Dedication in Katamon

The festivities began even before Chanukah with a grand ceremony dedicating a magnificent Aron Kodesh (Holy Ark) at the Yeshiva’s branch in the Katamon neighborhood. This exquisite work of art was donated through the generosity of the distinguished philanthropist Reb Eldad Kim, who traveled from overseas to instill holiness into this fortress of Torah. During the festive reception, the Rosh Yeshiva delivered an in-depth Torah lecture, followed by moving remarks from Mr. Kim, who praised those who labor in Torah study and expressed his deep admiration for the Yeshiva's scholars.

A Mission of Appreciation to the U.S.

As part of the spiritual preparation for the Festival of Lights, the Rosh Yeshiva conducted a brief visit to the United States. The highlight was a rare gesture for the Yeshiva’s patrons: the distribution of premium, high-quality olive oil, elegantly bottled and refined according to the stringent standards of the late Posek HaDor, Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv, zt"l. These bottles received a special personal blessing from the pillar of Yira (reverence), the Mashgiach Rabbi Binyamin Finkel, shlit”a, as a token of appreciation for those who support the "Tree of Life."

The Climax: Heichal Soleimani

The peak of the Chanukah celebrations was the grand dedication of the Heichal Soleimani Beit Midrash and the opening of the Landau and Gaffner Halls. Following the specific guidance of the Yeshiva’s President, the renowned Posek Rabbi Pinchas Zvichi, shlit”a (author of Ateret Paz), the ceremony was intentionally scheduled for Chanukah—an auspicious time for the dedication of a House of God.On the second night of Chanukah, a day ripe with blessing, the Yeshiva donned its festive garments. The halls were beautifully decorated, and tables were set royally for the faculty, students, and alumni. The Rosh Yeshiva delivered the keynote address, expressing profound gratitude to the philanthropist Reb Yitzchak Soleimani and his family, whose generous contributions made the building of the hall possible. The climax occurred when the Yeshiva President opened the doors of the new Hall, and the entire assembly burst into a soulful rendition of "Nishmat Kol Chai," followed by exuberant dancing in honor of the Torah.

Zot Chanukah: From Meah Shearim to the Kotel

In Tiferet Yonatan Yehoshua, "Zot Chanukah" (the final day) is a day of longing and spiritual connection. Despite it being the "Bein HaZmanim" break for many, the Yeshiva became a magnet for hundreds of young men and alumni who refused to miss the "closing" of the days of light.The morning began with a stirring Shacharit prayer at the Meah Shearim branch—Heichal Landau—which is currently being built with extraordinary splendor. The Hallel prayer reached the heavens, coinciding with the dedication of "Sha’ar Landau," the magnificent new entrance gate located in the heart of the Meah Shearim neighborhood.As the sun began to set on Zot Chanukah, a vast crowd of students, led by the Rosh Yeshiva, marched toward the Western Wall (Kotel). There, during the final Mincha prayer of Chanukah 5786, a public prayer was held for the welfare of the community and individuals. The names of all the Yeshiva’s donors and supporters were mentioned, seeking blessings and salvation for them.It is noteworthy that despite this chain of massive events, the students maintained their diligent Torah study without interruption. The Yeshiva's schedules remained fully intact, upholding the long-standing tradition of the institution.May the holiness and light of these dedication days continue to radiate upon the holy Yeshiva and all its supporters throughout the entire year.

ימי החנוכה דהאי שתא ייזכרו בדברי באם ישיבות הקיבוץ, ישיבת "תפארת יונתן יהושע" בראשות הגרי"מ זביחי שליט"א, כתקופה של התעלות רוחנית השזורה בשמחת בניינה של תורה.
בצל המוטו "מזמור חנוכת הבית", חגגו מאות התלמידים והבוגרים רצף אירועים מכוננים בכל סניפי הישיבה, המבטאים את תנופת הפיתוח המרשימה של המוסד המפואר.
תרועת החגיגות החלה עוד בטרם ימי החנוכה, במעמד כביר של חנוכת ארון הקודש המפואר בסניף הישיבה בשכונת קטמון. הארון, יצירת אמנות של ממש, נתרם בנדבת לבו הטהור של הנגיד הנכבד ר' אלדד קים שיחי', אשר הטריח עצמו ובא מעבר לים כדי ליצוק תוכן של קדושה במבצר התורה. במהלך קבלת הפנים החגיגית, מסר מורינו ראש הישיבה שיעור תורני מעמיק, ולאחריו נשא הנגיד דברי כיבושין נרגשים בשבחם של עמלי התורה, כשהוא מביע את התפעלותו מצורבי הישיבה.
כחלק מההיערכות הרוחנית לימי האורה, ערך מורינו ראש הישיבה שליט"א "ביקור בזק" בארה"ב. במרכז הביקור עמדה מחווה רוחנית נדירה לפטרוני הישיבה: חלוקת בקבוקי שמן זית איכותיים ומהודרים דומיא דמנורה, המזוקקים לפי חומרותיו המפורסמות של מרן פוסק הדור הגרי"ש אלישיב זצוק"ל. בקבוקים אלו זכו לברכה אישית מיוחדת ממרן עמוד היראה, מורינו המשגיח הגה"צ רבי בנימין פינקל שליט"א, אשר העניקם כשי של הערכה למחזיקי "עץ החיים".
שיאם של ימי החנוכה נחוג ברוב פאר והדר עם חנוכת בית המדרש המפואר "היכל סולימני". ופתיחת האולמות המפוארים לאנדא וגפנר, על פי הכרעתו המיוחדת של נשיא הישיבה, עמוד ההוראה מרן הרה"ג רבי פנחס זביחי שליט"א בעל ה- "עטרת פז", נדחה המעמד לימי החנוכה – זמן המסוגל לאמירת "מזמור שיר חנוכת הבית".
ביום המסוגל לברכה נר שני של חנוכה היכל הישיבה לבש חג, והאולמות התקשטו ברוב פאר והדר סביב שולחנות ערוכים כיד המלך בהם התכנסו רבני הישיבה, תלמידיה ובוגריה. מורינו ראש הישיבה שליט"א נשא משא מרכזי בענייני דיומא, כשהוא משלב דברי הכרת הטוב לנגיד החשוב הר"ר יצחק סולימני שליט"א ומשפחתו החשובה הי״ו שהוזיל מהונו למען בניין ההיכל. רגעי השיא נרשמו כאשר נשיא הישיבה פתח את שערי ההיכל החדש, וכל הקהל פצח בשירת "נשמת כל חי" ברוב עם, כשלאחריה ריקודים סוערים לכבודה של תורה.

יום "זאת חנוכה" בישיבת "תפארת יונתן יהושע" הוא מושג של כמיהה וערגה. למרות ימי "בין הזמנים" הנהוגים בעולם הישיבות, הישיבה הופכת לאבן שואבת למאות בחורים ובוגרים המסרבים להפסיד את ה"נעילה" של ימי האור. הבוקר נפתח בתפילת שחרית נרגשת בסניף מאה שערים -"היכל לנדא" ההולך ונבנה בימים אלו בפאר והדר יוצא דופן, מלווה בשירת "הלל" שהרקיעה שחקים. המעמד שולב בחנוכת "שער לנדא" – שער הכניסה החדש והמפואר הניצב בלב רחוב מאה שערים.
עם דמדומי חמה של יום "זאת חנוכה", צעדו המוני התלמידים בראשות מורינו ראש הישיבה שליט"א לעבר הכותל המערבי. שם, בתפילת מנחה האחרונה של חנוכה תשפ"ו, נערכה תפילת רבים ותחינה לישועת הכלל והפרט, בציון שמותיהם של כלל תורמי ומחזיקי הישיבה לישועה וברכה.
יש לציין, כי לצד שרשרת המעמדים הכבירה, שמרו תלמידי הישיבה על עמל התורה ברציפות, וסדרי הישיבה התקיימו כסדרם ללא כל שינוי, כמסורת הישיבה מאז ומתמיד.
